Transport Abstraction Layer 

Artix Data Services runtime provides a transport abstraction layer with access to over 50 types of transports.

Example transports include: FILE, JMS, AMQP,  FTP/SFTP,  HTTP, IMAP, POP, SMTP, JDBC, IRC, JBI, JETTY, JPA, MSMQ, TCP, UDP, MULTICAST

Easier to rapidly integrate over 50 common message transports reducing the amount of custom coding and making it easier for developers to change underlying transports.

Multi-Transport Testing

Define and test multiple transports from within Artix Data Services Designer.

Multiple inputs and outputs can be defined, e.g. read off a JMS queue, parse, transform, split into multiple files and send to a MSMQ queue, database and email address.

Shortens the data services development and test lifecycle.

Project and Run Configurations

Wizard-based tool allows defining and testing different configuration parameters which persist with deployed code, e.g. transport names and locations used in design time can optionally persist when executed.

Shortens time to deploy code to production environment as design time configurations are reused at run time.

Improved Transformations, Visualizations, Smart Mappings, and Refactorings

Transform mappings support auto layout, route highlighting and searchability.

Increases product usability especially for new users and large mappings.

Smart Mappings will show valid mappings and suggest functions to convert current invalid mappings, e.g. for an invalid mapping of integer to character, the tool will suggest a function to apply so they can be mapped

Mappings are more intuitive and readable.

Transformations can be globalized, nested, refactored, and reused.

Allows greater reuse and supportability of existing code. Saves user time for the refactoring vs doing by hand, less duplication of transformation logic.

Transforms can be exported to HTML for specification review or sharing with business users.

Aliases

Users can define alternate names for message structures to more meaningful terms based for the business user or a regional localized dialect, e.g. “Field 71” used by the technical team is aliased as “Detail of Charges” for the business analyst.

Improves collaboration across IT and business analysts since the model becomes more readable and uses relevant terms.

Allows users to import WSDL files

Plug-in Architecture
