IONA Artix Orchestration
BPEL Service Orchestration for the Distributed SOA
Artix Orchestration provides a comprehensive environment for designing, building, testing and deploying workflows and Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) service orchestrations. Based on the Eclipse visual framework, Artix Orchestration provides a full complement of BPEL 2.0 constructs with which to build service compositions. Simply drag constructs from the BPEL Tools palette and drop them onto the diagramming canvas. As service orchestrations are created in Artix Orchestration's diagramming view, code view can be used to examine the BPEL process definition.

Artix Orchestration can assemble functionality from anywhere in a distributed network of services. Providing a distributed, hub-free approach to integration is a key feature of the Artix product family that enables:
- Incremental adoption - Artix Orchestration can be deployed incrementally at Artix Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) endpoints, so enterprises can begin with low-risk, high-value SOA projects and gradually add process flows as needed.
- Dynamic and adaptable deployments - Artix Orchestration uses BPEL to encode process flows that can be reconfigured easily without recompilation. Artix Orchestration also manages service versions, making it easy to upgrade service endpoints in an orderly way.
- Technology-neutral solutions - Artix Orchestration, coupled with Artix ESB, can orchestrate services exposed through any transport or message format. Artix Orchestration allows users to compose services across SOAP/HTTP, MQSeries, and other messaging systems.
SOA Success with Artix ESB and Artix Orchestration
Artix ESB and Artix Orchestration significantly reduce the time and complexity required to implement service-oriented applications and allow deployment of those applications to enterprise-class runtime environments. For example, Artix Orchestration lets organizations simulate process flows, giving developers the ability to test and make changes to the process flows before they are fully deployed. Artix Orchestration's deployment wizards guide businesses through the tasks of packaging and installing application components. Artix ESB and Artix Orchestration help organizations faced with evolving business requirements build highly flexible and agile enterprise systems from existing enterprise functionality quickly and easily.
The solution suite's Eclipse-based design tools expedite the build-test-debug cycle making the process quick and easy. Having Eclipse tooling across your developer tools increases productivity and reduces training costs. The set of extensible tools enable the design, configuration, assembly, deployment, monitoring, and management of software designed around a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
