IONA Expands Resources for Celtix Developer Community
Enhancements Ease Development and Speed Deployment of Open Source SOA
DUBLIN, Ireland & WALTHAM, Mass. - April 19, 200- In response to the increasingly mainstream use of open source software in strategic service-oriented architecture deployments, IONA® Technologies (NASDAQ: IONA), has launched several new initiatives to enable the Celtix™ user community to more easily adopt the company's open source SOA infrastructure offerings. IONA is a world leader in distributed SOA infrastructure solutions for performance-demanding IT environments. The primary objective of IONA's open source initiative is to deliver the right combination of certified technology solutions and support offerings, along with community resources, needed by IT organizations to successfully deploy distributed SOA using open source technologies.
"We've made it significantly easier for customers wishing to adopt open source in the enterprise to download Celtix, access support and become part of an active user community," explained Debbie Moynihan, director, Open Source Programs, IONA. "The open source community is driving a significant amount of innovation as it relates to SOA, and IONA is committed to fully supporting our customers who have made the business decision to make open source technologies a part of their SOA deployment strategies."
The availability of new resources for the Celtix developer community coincides with the availability of the latest release of Celtix Enterprise. Celtix Enterprise is an open source ESB with functionality derived from several key open source SOA infrastructure projects that have been integrated, tested and certified by IONA for compatibility and interoperability. IONA has launched www.ionaceltix.com, a dedicated Web site for the Celtix user community. The new site features a streamlined download process, enhanced product demos and flash videos to aid with product installation. Members of the Celtix user community can also share tips and news of successful deployments via the new Celtix mailing list. Joining the list and entering the Celtix discussion is as easy as sending an email to listserver@celtix.org with the words "subscribe celtixusers" in the subject line.
In recognition of the development needs of enterprise SOA deployments, IONA is extending, to 90 days, the 30-day free developer support that was introduced with the launch of Celtix. Customers who download Celtix and complete a simple registration process are now entitled to an industry-leading 90 days of free developer support. Additionally, registered users have access to enterprise class account management capabilities that include the ability to create and easily manage support requests through the new customer support portal available to all Celtix Enterprise users.
Moynihan concluded, "With these new programs and enhancements in place, we're demonstrating to the Celtix user community our continued dedication to their success."
