IONA COMPLETES BEA VALIDATION PROGRAM
IONA's Artix Extensible ESB Integrates with BEA WebLogic Platform to Achieve Seamless Interoperability of SOA Infrastructure
DUBLIN, Ireland & WALTHAM, Mass. - November 16, 2005 - IONA® Technologies (NASDAQ: IONA), a world leader in high-performance integration solutions for mission-critical IT environments, today announced that Artix?, IONA's extensible Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) has completed the BEA Validation Program and is now verified to integrate with BEA WebLogic Platform? 8.1. By completing this program, IONA can assure customers that Artix is designed to integrate with the industry's leading application infrastructure software from BEA Systems, Inc.
As an extensible ESB, Artix can enable enterprise IT organizations with multiple generations of business applications, technologies and architectures to leverage Web services-based integration software and allow existing IT assets to work together, forming the basis for an agile service-oriented architecture (SOA). Artix provides WebLogic users native, configuration-driven integration to non-J2EE environments including .NET, CICS and IMS mainframe, and CORBA®, helping IONA and BEA to better provide customers with a solution designed to ensure that legacy systems can participate as equal citizens in new IT initiatives, including SOA, built on the BEA WebLogic Platform 8.1.
"IT organizations have made significant investments in the technologies required to run their businesses and today, many are looking for ways to effectively leverage those investments, and at the same time, standardize on modern computing platforms such as BEA WebLogic," explained Eric Newcomer, CTO, IONA. "Through its multi protocol and data format support, plus support for the enterprise QoS required by mission-critical systems, Artix can provide an important bridge between the legacy and the new, paving the way for more effective SOA deployments."
The BEA Validation Program provides a testing framework to verify the technical readiness of partner solutions that complement, operate with, or extend the BEA WebLogic Platform. Partners can validate the integration of their software applications and solutions with the BEA WebLogic Platform or test the interoperability of Java controls and integrated development environment (IDE) extensions with BEA WebLogic Workshop. The BEA Validation Program is open to all partners enrolled in the BEA Partner Program.
"We're pleased IONA is participating in the BEA Partner Program and has taken the extra step to validate Artix with BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform," said Larry Aronovitz, Director Worldwide Partner Program, BEA Systems. "BEA's validation program is designed to help accelerate adoption of partners' solutions and increase market opportunities by assuring mutual customers that these partners' technology solutions integrate with the BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform."
