IONA LAUNCHES EMEA ALLIANCE PROGRAM TO EXTEND LEADERSHIP IN WEB SERVICES INTEGRATION

Waltham, MA -- May 30, 2002 - IONA®, the leading e-Business Platform provider for Web Services Integration (NASDAQ: IONA) today announced it has extended its Alliance program to support partners in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). As part of IONA's Global Alliances initiative, the EMEA Alliance program will support partners using IONA solutions by creating links in the "value-chain" where the company's technology intersects with partner businesses.

IONA's Global Alliances team facilitates the efforts of this growing network of computing platform vendors, independent software vendors, and system integrators to leverage the capabilities of IONA's Orbix E2A™ Web Services Integration solutions. IONA is currently working with more than 20 of the world's leading systems integrators, including KPMG Consulting, CSC, PwC Consulting, Tata Infotech, Toshiba and HP Services. In support of its Global Alliances efforts, IONA has developed a series of flexible programs to help Solution and Technology Provider partners grow their businesses, accelerate time-to-market, and increase profitability. The programs are tailored to support a partner's business model and marketing functions, and offer three levels of commitment that deliver the resources, expertise and products a partner needs to decrease deployment costs, shorten sales cycles, and increase revenue. The programs and levels of commitment are:

  • Solution Provider Program is designed to promote and assist system integrators that focus on providing customers with a complete solution for End-to-Anywhere business integration both inside and outside the firewall. The program targets system integrators that rely on IONA products and services as part of their e-business practices.
  • Technology Provider Program is designed for independent software vendors (ISVs), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and other technology firms that provide platform and other specialized components that complement IONA solutions.
  • The Solution and Technology Provider programs offer three levels of commitment. Strategic partners, Premier partners, and Associate partners receive appropriate levels of support to drive their success using IONA's Orbix E2A.

Fergal McDonnell is IONA's Director of Alliances for EMEA, with the responsibility to grow and support the partner-base across the region.
