IONA TO DELIVER ORBIX E2A WEB SERVICES INTEGRATION PLATFORM ON HP-UX

JavaOnesm Conference 2002 - San Francisco, CA. - March 27, 2002 - IONA®, the leading e-Business Platform provider for Web Services Integration (NASDAQ: IONA), today announced it will deliver Orbix E2A™ for Hewlett-Packard Company's HP-UX operating system and hardware platforms.

Under an agreement between the two companies, IONA and HP will share technical resources for product performance optimization on HP platforms, bringing better availability to mutual customers in a shorter timeframe. The companies will also establish a collaborative process for sales training and lead-generation with the intention of generating new business through combined hardware, software and services offerings.

HP announced the incorporation of IONA's Orbix 2000 industry-standard Object Request Broker (ORB) into the HP Application Server in May 2001. IONA, which has always certified its products on HP-UX, will continue to support HP's current and future platforms.
