SAIC AND IONA SIGN SYSTEMS INTEGRATION PARTNERSHIP
SAIC To Provide System Integration Services for IONA Customers in Multiple Industries
Waltham, MA. and San Diego, CA. - June 6, 2000 - IONA, the Enterprise Portal Company™ (NASDAQ: IONA) and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a Fortune 500 company providing informatioSuite™.
Under the terms of the agreement, SAIC will resell the IONA iPortal Suite to its clients and provide systems integration support and technical expertise to customers purchasing the iPortal Suite directly from IONA. SAIC will also exploit Quava", its own software integrated development environment, to deliver customized solutions for customers in many industries, including utilities, financial services, healthcare, transportation and telecommunications.

Quava" enables code generation of Java EJB components for IONA's iPortal Application Server™or pure CORBA C++ objects for IONA's Orbix 2000™. It supports generation of classes into complex frameworks consisting of multiple Orbix 2000 services such as events, transaction and persistence. Enhancing project models by relating physical and object models, Quava" is a high-productivity toolkit for rapidly developing and integrating business applications and middleware services.
