We're looking for an energetic, motivated and focused professional to help us write the next generation of tools to support our customers. If you have 3+ years writing Java and Developing User Interfaces we'd love to hear from you. Familiarity and willingness to develop eclipse components would be a big plus also. In this role you would get the opportunity to further develop your skills designing and developing UI components to support our Artix product set.
Responsibilities:
This role will be within IONA's User Interface Development team supporting all IONA products that require UI components. As part of this, you'll need to:
- Take ownership of key UI components, design & deliver these on schedule
- Work closely with those developing runtime features to ensure good UI coverage
- Contributing to project planning in the team, understanding and following development processes, documenting, coding and/or application samples.
- Keep up to date on general IT trends and feedback useful developments to the team
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential -
- 3+ years developing Java applications
- 3+ years exposure to developing Eclipse UI components
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Related educational background in Computer Science / Engineering
- Experience with user interface design, eclipse technologies - plugin development, eclipse technologies - EMF, GEF, SWT and web development preferred
Desirable -
- Version control systems such as Subversion, CVS & Clearcase
- Experience of Agile Software Development and Test First Practices
